Help! Fail to run Win_Me after the installation of WinXP!

I installed (chi ver) win_me first in my system, then used partitionmagic to create a new partition (new driver letter) in my 40gb hard drive (d:). At the beginning, everything is great. But few days later, when Win_xp is not properly shut down, I restared and chose win_me from my bootstar menu, the Win_me OS turned into win98 logo and switched to DOS Prompt entry interface. It said "this version of windows need run on MS-DOS 8.0". Is there any way win_xp will change the system file of other OS in different partition, can I resume it? Since some files are ONLY supported in win9x system. Thank you for any advice..

从你的情况来看，你是用xp的多系统管理功能来管理。
我用的BOOTMAGIC来管理多个OS，各OS都是基本分区，相互之间绝对独立，互不干扰。
当启动一个OS时，另外一个系统自动隐藏起来，这样有效地保护系统不受损。

One guest don't bother the other host. It seems you know the possible solution. Can you give me any tip on how to regain my access to WIN_ME os? Another headache for me is I can still access the files and data for my WIN_ME (c:) OS, but the PartitionMagic ver for that is 6.0. I tried to installed the newest 7.0 ver for win_xp in (d:), I got the popup error msg: "An installation support file 'x:\program files\common files\installshield\engine\6\intel32\ikernel.exe' could not be installed." "the filename, directory name, or volumn label syntax is incorrect." It won't let me setup the partitionmagic for Win_xp. I'm at the end of wits. Do I really have to reinstall both OS to get WIN_ME back? Thank you for help again!!!

如果是我，我会重装一次系统，用bootmagic或其他多管理管理软件来管理，这样装多个系统如 win98 win2000 winme 或windows xp linux/unix都很轻松，管理也很方便。
在装多个系统时，不要使用ntfs格式，因为多系统的情况下，使用NTFS格式会造成系统不稳定。
partitionmagic 做在启动光盘上使用比较好，直接在windows 下使用，一般都要切换到到DOS执行任务。
至于具体如何修复你现在的问题，我也没有经验。因为我几乎不用WINME.
